    Dealing with large PowerPoint files

Recently, I heard about a powerpoint file that was being downloaded by a lot of people… I came to find out that the file was over 70MB! So I asked about the file… sure enough, it had a lot of high resolution images. When you insert images straight from the camera without any file resizing or compression, it will be a very large file.

Don’t worry, compressing the pictures in the powerpoint file isn’t difficult.

Open your Powerpoint file and save it as another filename… click on an image, then click on the Format tab up top… You’ll see a button that says Compress Images.

A dialog box will open, uncheck the “Apply only to this picture” and press OK.

Save your file and see the file size now.

That’s it. Simple, but often forgotten.
